Science Village is the academic section of the Global Energy Summit dedicated to presenting research, studies, and innovative solutions for the energy transition. Researchers, professors, students, and industry professionals are invited to submit papers aligned with the 5D framework for energy transformation.

About Energy Summit

The Global Energy Summit is the world’s largest event organized in collaboration with MIT and dedicated to innovation, entrepreneurship, energy, and sustainability, bringing together academia, industry and corporations, entrepreneurs and startups, investors and venture capital firms, and government. The Science Village 2026 Call for Papers is structured around the 5D Framework for Energy Transformation, addressing the structural dimensions of the global energy transition:

Who can participate in Science Village?

The Call for Papers for the Science Village – Energy Summit Global 2026 is intended for researchers, professionals, and innovators who are directly involved in the energy transition agenda and the development of new technological, regulatory, and market solutions.

The following are eligible to apply:

  • Researchers and university professors
  • Doctoral, master''''s, and postdoctoral students
  • Advanced undergraduate students
  • R&D and corporate innovation professionals
  • Energy sector experts
  • Deep tech startups
  • Public policy makers and regulators
  • Industry consultants and analysts
How does the submission process work?

The submission process takes place in four stages, ensuring rigorous scientific evaluation and final presentation at the Energy Summit Global.

🥇 Stage 1 — Extended Abstract
Submission of 500 to 700 words

  • Scientific evaluation in a double-blind format
  • Selected works advance to the full paper submission stage

🥈 Stage 2 — Full Paper
Submission of the complete paper (4,000 to 6,000 words)

  • Scientific and editorial evaluation

At the end of this stage:

  • Up to 25 papers will be selected
  • 5 papers per category of the 5D framework

Selected papers proceed to official presentation at the event.

🏅 Stage 3 — Poster Submission
Selected authors must prepare a scientific poster for presentation at the event.

Specifications:

  • A0 format (84.1 cm × 118.9 cm)
  • Portrait orientation
  • Minimum resolution of 300 DPI
  • Final file submission in PDF for printing

Poster printing will be handled by the event.

🏆 Stage 4 — Energy Summit Awards
Among the presented works:

  • 5 finalists will be selected, one per 5D framework category

Evaluation criteria:

  • Paper quality
  • Poster presentation

The winning work will receive the Energy Summit Award.

Awards

Selected works will receive:

  • Publication in the Energy Summit special virtual edition by MIT Technology Review Brasil
  • Official presentation at the event in poster format
  • Participation in the Energy Summit Awards reception for the 5 finalists

Among the finalists:

  • 5 works will be recognized (one per 5D framework category)
  • 1 winning work will receive a R$ 5,000 prize
Schedule

April 30, 2026 — Extended abstract submission

May 4, 2026 — Notification of selected abstracts

May 18, 2026 — Full paper submission

June 2, 2026 — Final decision on selected papers

June 8, 2026 — Submission of final paper and scientific poster

June 23–25, 2026 — Presentation at the Energy Summit Global, at Marina da Glória, Rio de Janeiro

Publication & Presentation

Accepted papers will undergo a structured academic review process:

  • Double-blind peer review
  • Mandatory in-person presentation during the event
  • Production of a scientific poster in A0 format
  • Bilingual publication, with editorial support where applicable
Will there be a certificate of participation?

Certificates of participation will be issued to all registered attendees who attend the event.

Authors of accepted papers will receive a certificate of presentation upon presenting their paper during the event.

The certificates will be made available in digital format after the event.
